    The internal plastic parts in the plug are made of crappy incorrect plastic and tend to crumble. Best solution is to buy cheap Chinese replacement plugs and insert the existing contacts/wires into new plugs. The life limited flexible parts REALLY should have been on the coil side.

    Time is money, just use the same RTV and put a dab across the top of the connectors to seal it together. It will also be intuitive to the next person who has to service it when they see the RTV, and they know to simply slice it apart with a blade to release.

    even though that solder will hold for now, a better way is to start off how you did with the iron tinned by solder. But then holding the iron against the wire and waiting 2-3 seconds and allowing the copper wire to get hot enough. You want the copper wire itself to be hot but not enough to start melting the insulation near it. Once the wire is hot enough, applying solder you can watch it wick into the copper strands. You shouldn't have to "wipe" any of the solder on, it should flow on naturally. Using thinner solder will be easier and flow better on the smaller gauge wires. 0.032" solder is perfect for general car wiring, anything larger and you need an excessive amount of heat to actually get the solder to melt and flow into the joint.

    Thank you! 66 yr old lady with an oak lying in my driveway. The chainsaw work was fun, (10” Black and Decker 20V cordless - I can handle it safely) but if I can split it folks will be delighted to take it away. Firewood is a commodity. Tree parts are trash. 🤔

    Just sorting mine now after hearing about the blocked drains that plague these vehicles 🤔I’ve made a secret cut on the carpet passenger side (right hand drive car)so I can quickly lift and check for damp and check the main wiring loom, I’ve made clearing the drains with a large bottle brush part of my cars service👍oh and whilst I’m here thanks to the nob who pushed the rubber drains up into the hole only to block them even more 😐good job 👎

    Great video! Love the references to Christ. Would you say that the main use of the Estwing Sure Split Wedge is for large rounds? Is it worth it if you're not generally dealing with a lot of large rounds? I have an 8 pound maul but am looking for something easier for the stubborn logs.

    • @RubberDuc
      @RubberDuc 3 місяці тому

      Hi, I would say having one is a good idea (not sure it is the best choice out there though) just because if you are wanting to do it easier (albeit slower) it is a good option to have I would think, thanks for the comment.

    I made some wedges out of a white oak limb. For the chain saw assist method they worked better than my metal splitting wedge. Eventually discovered that a 8 pound Fiskars splitting maul was best. Don't swing the Fiskars maul hard. Let the weight of the maul do the work. Hunt for an existing crack if possible. Keep hitting the round in a line going across the round. It always comes as a surprise when it starts splitting. The wooden wedges really work great on that first crack.

    When I add fuel it just drains out the bottom of the saw. Does the fuel line connect to the tank with a rubber hose or is it a metal tube connection that connects to a rubber tube. It ran last fall when I put it away.

    Never do this without using the maintenance stand, and a warm engine. All oil is drained and filling is more accurate. Motul oil is the only decent oil for these very sensitive engines. Torque settings are also important, steel plugs into an alloy moulding can be a recipe for disaster.

    • @onefastmini
      @onefastmini 3 місяці тому

      Motul is not the only decent oil, four 20 year old Ducatis each with over 50,000 miles and 2 150,000+ BMW's in my stable using Rotella T6 begs to disagree with you. Motul is fine and I would never suggest you not use it if you are happy. I do agree however that a maintenance stand should have been used, he also didn't start the motor and check the level with the bike standing upright.
